Supper & Substance: Spotlight
August 1, 2016
UPC Fellowship Hall
Join your friends for dinner and a movie discussion on Monday evenings in July and August. The dinners are modestly priced, always delicious, and prepared by various committees of UPC. The movies are selected to illuminate the themes of life and faith, and to serve as visual parables to help viewers develop “eyes that see and ears that hear” how God’s messages of hope and love are revealed through contemporary films.
Dinner at 5:45 pm, Discussion at 6:30 pm. $12 adults, $3 children. Caution: Not all movies suitable for children.

Our members tell their stories
“In 2003, we returned to Austin and I was reminded that life sometimes brings challenges. Unlike in Memphis, there was no African American Presbyterian Church in Austin. We had to accept the challenge of finding a new Presbyterian church where we could each continue the service we were accustomed to rendering. We were welcomed at UPC with open arms and I found inner peace in knowing that I had a church home in which the presence of God never ceases.”– — Johnnie
