Donate to “The Other Ones”
The Other Ones is an organization in Austin that reaches out to persons experiencing homelessness in Austin. They are still operational, and they need donations. Go to their Amazon Wishlist to help them out without getting out of your house:
Make Mask Covers for Hospice Austin
Only if there are no sick persons in your house. Hospice Austin needs washable mask covers for their N95 masks to reduce contamination. The exact shape doesn’t matter; the mask should be 7-8 inches tall, 8-9 inches wide, some pleating on the sides would be helpful. Should have ties that can be adjusted or that are elastic. Please place them in a plastic ziplock bag and contact Brita Hansen, Hospice Chaplain, email@example.com to arrange for pick up.
Instructions from JOANN Stores. Please let us know if you find other instructions that work well.
Donate / Volunteer at the Emergency Food Pantry for Seniors
with Drive a Senior West Austin
Healthy volunteers needed in 2-hour shifts. There will only be 2-3 people in one large space at any given time. We are sanitizing rooms 3x a day and ensuring the highest safety standards are being used. Food donations (very specific) will come in, be sanitized, packaged, and picked up by volunteers to be delivered to seniors. Delivery drivers won’t be getting out of their cars, anyone donating food will not be getting out of their cars. This will be a minimal person-to-person contact system. We will need food and paper-good donations starting Monday March 23rd.
We also need volunteer drivers. Please email our office (DO NOT CALL) at firstname.lastname@example.org
