Children’s Ministry at UPC

No matter what age, there is a place for you and your children at University Presbyterian Church. As a whole church family, our congregation, lay leaders, and pastors work together to nurture the Christian faith of our youngest members.

Sunday mornings are busy at UPC!

School age children can join us upstairs from 9:30-10:45 for music, drama, stories, prayer, crafts, and play. Whether in our Laudate Music and Drama class, the Prayground (for grades PK-1), or the Treehouse (for grades 2-5), children will find opportunities to grow in discipleship and friendship! Our children’s curriculum encourages playful exploration of biblical stories and an introduction to the theological meaning of the sacraments, baptism and communion.

Our nursery children will find a safe and loving place to play in the nursery on the lower level. Our nursery staff will read, sing, and play along with the children while they are there.

During worship, children are always welcome in the sanctuary. Following the Time with the Younger Church, our little worshippers in grade PK-2 may attend Bridge to Worship, where children hear and respond to the Word in imaginative ways that recognize a child’s need to move and make noise!

UPC Children’s Sermons

Each Sunday, children of all ages are invited to participate in a Time for the Younger Church. The story from the day’s sermon text or the liturgical year is told in an engaging manner so that all can understand.
