John has been an Associate Pastor at UPC since 2011 and is a native Texan. A lifelong Presbyterian, his calling to ministry began when he was in high school and he has since dedicated his vocation to helping people of all ages explore their relationship with God. John holds a B.A. in Youth and Family Ministry from Abilene Christian University, his Masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry Degree. He serves on the board of Presbyterian Youth Workers' Association and is a Benedictine Oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey. He was recently published as a contributing author in the Yale Youth Ministry Institute book, Joy: A Guide for Youth Ministry and served as a contributor to the new Book of Common Worship. He also enjoys camping, playing the bagpipes, going on pilgrimage, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
