Kim holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Music degree from the University of Texas. After completing her education, she worked for several years as a full-time self-employed performing and teaching musician before embarking on a lifelong career in human resources. During that time, she continued working in musical theater as a vocal coach, rehearsal and performance accompanist, and musical director. She also served as Assistant Director of Music at University Presbyterian Church from 1991 to 2003 and led the Handbell Choir from 2003 to 2005. In 2005, Kim joined Genesis Presbyterian Church as its Choir Director. After serving there for eight years, she returned to UPC in 2013, where she has been singing with the Chancel Choir and women’s quartet Miriam’s Daughters, playing handbells, and leading music for the monthly Taizé service. She has sung with community chorus Panoramic Voices (formerly Texas Choral Consort) since 2010, and is currently serving as President of its Board of Directors.
